Our COVID-19 Policies

Updated: Jul 19

Amid ongoing concern about COVID-19, Portsmouth Escape Room's top priority is the health and safety of our guests and employees. We continue to monitor the situation and follow State and CDC guidelines in regards to best practices.

While we always strive to maintain the highest standards when it comes to cleaning and maintaining our facility, we are working even more diligently to create a secure and comfortable environment by doing the following:
  • We understand participating in a group activity with strangers during this time might be a bit intimidating, so we are making games all private at no additional cost until further notice (with no minimum).

  • We have set up seating outside to try to reduce groups congregating in the lobby. We have reduced our capacity and separated our two lobbies into 4 sections to keep groups apart should they happen to be in the facility at the same time.

  • We require that all of our guests use face coverings. If you don't have a one, a disposable mask will be provided free of charge.

  • We are asking all guests to wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer before and after every game.

  • We have increased the frequency of our cleanings by disinfecting locks, handles, door knobs, and other touchable surfaces in between every game. We have additional staff ready to clean as games end.

  • We ask our guests to refrain from participating in this activity if you have any unexplained symptoms, if you have traveled abroad or if you think you may have come in contact with an infected individual (see below what to do in case of cancelation).

  • We are removing from our lobby items that are touched often, such as photo signs and brainteasers in order to reduce exposure.

  • For your safety, we are screening all customers for symptoms before each game.

  • Daily symptom survey and temperature checking of employees in compliance with State of New Hampshire Universal Guidelines

Per CDC recently updated guidelines, coronavirus does not spread easily by touching surfaces or objects (source). Compared to other options, escape room is one of the safest recreational activities. Just remember our games are now 100% private, so only people you know or live with will play with you!

With all our efforts and the diligence of our awesome team, we feel confident that we are doing all we can to provide a safe place for you to visit. We want all our guests to feel comfortable and confident when visiting and enjoying Portsmouth Escape Room.

Thank you,

The Portsmouth Escape Room Team
